Want to forget the War (5)

Wouldn't be of any benefit, possessing a medal, want to forget the war, not remember it•

They are the things one wants to forget about and not be reminded.

We want to get on with future and forget the war.

It's all over and we want to forget it and medals are a waste of money at this time.

Tired of the whole thing - doesn't want to reap it all up again - was chief warden at post and 6 day's a week with W.V.S. Medal is of no value - doesn't discriminate between voluntary and conscripted service. Did not expect any return for service.
